Mambo, for beginner to early intermediate percussionists, is a great piece to introduce or develop ensemble experience .  There are two melodic parts, a djembe part for hand drumming, a snare drum part, and a drumset part, which together, provide students with exposure to a full spectrum of percussion instruments.  
The two melodic parts are written for steelpan but can be played on any melodic percussion instruments available.  Steelpan 1 was written with the Jumbie Jam steelpan in mind but, along with steelpan 2, can be played on a standard tenor pan, double tenors, or double seconds.  The unison rhythms help beginners develop listening skills and lock-in with the group.
